News focused on funding & financing
nature-based solutions
Earlier this month, 41 conservation practitioners descended upon Yale’s School of the Environment for the 18th annual Conservation Finance Boot Camp. A week of panels, presentations and discussions ensued with 43 speakers sharing their expertise on topics ranging from trends in public funding, philanthropy and interim finance to carbon and water markets, urban green infrastructure, indigenous conservation and strategies to blend public and private finance, among other subjects. The week ended with the “Dolphin Tank” that featured participant projects focused on interim finance, oyster restoration and forest conservation. We were buoyed by the participants’ enthusiasm and the connections they made and are deeply grateful to the speakers for joining us; information about the Boot Camp will be posted soon on CFN’s web site. The Boot Camp capped a busy spring for the CFN that included our Conservation Finance Roundtable in April and participation in the 2nd annual European Conservation Finance Boot Camp in Romania, for which these links lead to articles summarizing the events. Happy summer to all!
